Portrait of Guozhen (Gordon) Ji

Empirical industrial organization economist

Guozhen (Gordon) Ji

I am an empirical industrial organization economist and incoming Associate at Econic Partners.

My research examines the intersection of structural economics and public policy, with particular attention to optimal pricing in environmental and transportation markets. I apply structural industrial organization methods, causal inference, and machine learning to large-scale data in the study of liability, pricing, and antitrust questions.

I received my Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Texas at Austin in May 2026.

Outside of research, I enjoy live electronic music, strategy games, and exploring local restaurants.
